AREA ACTIVITIES

Hout Bay has many activities to be enjoyed by both young and old. The unique area has an active working harbour for crayfish and tuna, where boat trips, diving and fishing can be enjoyed. Hout Bay also has beautiful beaches to enjoy for long walks and swimming. Horse riding is another popular activity practised by locals. There are many hiking trails accessible in Hout Bay giving rise to spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and ocean. Hout Bay is home to many wonderful restaurants where the local catch of the day can be enjoyed. Hout Bay Market has become a must for all to visit with its unique local offerings of both food and crafts. World of Birds is the largest bird sanctuary in Africa and is a great place to visit to see the fantastic variety of birds and monkeys. Places to visit in the surrounding areas are namely Camps Bay. Boasting our most famous beaches in the country it is a wonderful place to enjoy a summers day. On the other side of the neck is Constantia and their wine lands. Both areas have a wide variety of restaurants and activities to be enjoyed by the whole family.

Hout Bay has over six primary schools in the vicinity including its own Hout Bay International School. High Schools are also available in the area as well as Camps Bay High School, which is very close by. Sought-after schools in the southern suburbs are also only a 25 minute drive from Hout Bay.
